Which territories will create registers?
- Anguilla, Bermuda, Caymans, Pitcairn, Montserrat, Ascension Island, Tristan de Cunha and Saint Helena, Turks and Caicos, Falkland Islands.
The UK government said that the UK territories listed above will provide transparency for businesses and will do everything possible to prevent money laundering. State authorities say that offshore jurisdictions should complete the development of registries by early 2023.
Earlier, such well-known offshore zones as Jersey, Maine and Guernsey announced their intentions to create open registers of beneficiaries. Gibraltar also gave its consent, which is obliged to organize the fight against money laundering in accordance with the EU Directive No. 5.
