Jersey Extends Deferred Social Security Contributions

The Jersey government has issued an order for an additional deferral of social security contributions due to COVID-19.
Jersey authorities have published Social Security Order 2020, which was passed on 30 September 2020 and entered into force on 1 October 2020. The original order, which was passed in April, provided for employers and self-employed persons to apply for deferred payment of Class 1 and 2 contributions by up to 12 months for calendar quarters beginning January 1 and April 1, 2020. The amendment order increases the possible grace period to 24 months.
