Switzerland wants to increase taxation of individual capital income
On September 26, 2021, the Swiss electorate will vote on a proposal that will increase the taxation of capital income for individuals. The proposal essentially stipulates that tax on capital gains in excess of a certain amount will be calculated on 1.5 times the amount of capital gains. If approved during a scheduled vote, the amount above which the increased taxation will apply will be set by parliament.
